Peace and greetings to you all 🙂

Yesterday evening i was blessed to experience a spectacular event in the name of charity at the 5 star-rated Dorchester Hotel, coordinated by one of the most inspirational and genuine organisations i know, Al Fitrah. The captivating line-up of speakers included Jalal Ibn Saeed, UK Apache, Omar Debois, Lauren Booth and others, along with a number of sheikhs with heart-soothing recitations. The walls of the Dorchester, so accustomed to hearing the sound of ballroom Jazz and classical instrumentals were resonant with the sound of the glorious Qur’an and the Haqq.

Alongside this was served a delectable 5-course meal of pan seared tilapia with coriander and mint chutney tamarind tomato emulsion, Tender coconut and kafir (ay?) lime sorbet, Pressed shoulder of lamb with dauphinoise potatoes and seasonal vegetables, Hazelnut fondant with vanilla ice cream and coffee and petit fours.

There was at the same time, a running sale/exhibition with the talented canvases of Dawa Art on show, products from Ishopislam and a cake sale by the skilled bakers behind The Sweet Inventory (get in contact with myself if you would like more information about the cake service!)

Jalal Mentioned that people were puzzled by the prospect of an islamic event being held at such a lavish location, but at the same time, we never think twice about splurging on personal events such as weddings. Why should our beautiful deen receive any less of this elevated treatment?

The Dorchester Hotel is located in Mayfair and is renowned for its regularity in accommodating the big names in Hollywood. Of the many guests have included Michael Jackson, Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Arnold Schwarzenegger , Lady Gaga and Mariah Carey.88 7 c24 ca23 o l k c asd IMG_0022 y u p k#k 6 231 i8 CA1 ca2556iu
